Event Details

A night of fresh and broken lo-fi beats, retro synth and lucid lyrics from some outstanding UK artists.

Headlining proceedings is Mercury Prize nominee Ghostpoet. Acclaimed for his drowsy atmospheric vocals and skilful translation of the day-to-day into poetic verse, Ghostpoet’s third album Shedding Skin was released last year and recent collaborations include Massive Attack, Paul Smith (Maximo Park) and Melanie De Biasio.

Texturally rich and rhythm-heavy sounds come from London’s The Invisible whose self-titled debut album was nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2009. Their distinctly retro yet totally new sound has earned them a solid following in London and well beyond.

Plus, local lady Eva Lazarus brings her raw home-grown talent for an acoustic set of sweet soulful reggae-tinged licks, and Daddy G & Queen Bee are in the house for a DJ set of good grooves, reggae, funk and breaks and everything else befitting of the night.
